FAQs - Frequently asked questions about ultraTHERM protective cover
For which use are the ultraTHERM models specially made?
The ultraTHERM series is used in all situations where a patient needs to be protected from cooling down and where there are also damp weather conditions. The thermal insulation is still guaranteed even if the blanket gets wet during use, e.g. after a water rescue.
Are the ultraTHERM models washable?
Yes, both the patient blanket and the protective cover are machine washable at 95 ° C with chlorine-free detergents
What do you have to consider when drying?
Drying can be done by hanging in the fresh air. However, this takes a few days for complete drying. The ultraTHERM models can also be dried in a commercially available dryer at a temperature between 60 ° and 90 ° C.
Can the surfaces be disinfected?
Yes, chlorine-free bactericide in the form of a spray or wipe should be used for disinfection or decontamination.
With which detergents and disinfectants can I wash or treat the blanket?
Both detergents and disinfectants should be chlorine-free. Do not use fabric softener. For details and information on approved disinfectants, please refer to the care instructions.
Why is there a variant of the protective cover with 2 rear slits in the shoulder area?
The protective cover is designed for a number of different uses. When transporting the patient, e.g. in an ambulance, the two slots make it possible to secure the patient with the existing straps of the stretcher, which are passed through the slots and brought together over the patient. When used with a basket stretcher and the ultraBELT X-TREME harness system, the patient can be optimally secured.
